Line Creek Treatment Facility
As part of their comprehensive plan for water management in the Elk Valley, Teck Resources is building a water treatment facility to reduce the concentrations of naturally occurring selenium in Line Creek and West Line Creek at the Line Creek (LCO) coal mine.
Fernie Ready MIx is supplying the concrete for the construction of the new treatment facility and water diversion structures from our concrete batch plants in Fernie and Elkford. This job will require over 13,000 m3 of concrete delivered over three years.
This project is characterized by a fast and challenging construction schedule- many small pours along with large pours at infrequent intervals- in a remote area of BC. Flexibility and responsiveness is critical to keeping the project on schedule, and Interoute’s ability to bring in equipment and staff from our other ready mix operations in the East Kooteneys to handle the large pours has been key to our success.
